Blood Hub connects blood donors with people who need blood across Bangladesh. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it's used, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using Blood Hub, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
We only collect information that's necessary to connect donors and requesters safely and accurately.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive medical records, payment information, or precise GPS coordinates — location is limited to the district/upazila you select during registration.
How We Use Your Information
- Matching donors and requests — comparing blood group compatibility and district to find who can help.
- Sending notifications — alerting eligible, available donors when a matching request is posted nearby.
- Verifying accounts — confirming your email address before you can donate or appear in donor search, to keep the community trustworthy.
- Enabling contact — sharing your phone number with a requester only after you accept a request, or making your profile visible in donor search if you're marked available.
- Preventing abuse — detecting fake accounts, spam requests, and automated abuse of the platform.
- Improving the app — understanding usage patterns to fix bugs and improve reliability.
When Your Information Is Shared
We never sell your data. Blood Hub is a free community platform, not an ads or data-brokerage business.
Information is shared only in these specific cases:
- With other users — your name, blood group, general location, and phone number become visible to a requester once you accept a blood request, or to anyone searching donors if your profile is set to "Available."
- With service providers — we use Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Messaging for push notifications, and App Check for abuse prevention) to run the app. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments, and don't use your data for their own purposes.
- For legal reasons — if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.
Data Retention
We keep your account and donation history for as long as your account is active, so we can show accurate eligibility status and donation records. If you delete your account, your profile and personal details are removed from active use; some records may be retained briefly in backups or where needed to comply with legal obligations, after which they are permanently deleted.
Your Choices and Rights
- Access and update — you can view and edit your profile information at any time from within the app.
- Availability control — toggle yourself "Available" or "Resting" to control whether you appear in search or receive notifications.
- Notifications — you can disable push notifications from your device settings at any time.
- Account deletion — you can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below, or visiting our account deletion page.
Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted password storage, secure authentication through Firebase, and Firebase App Check with Play Integrity to help block automated and fraudulent access to our systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data using practices appropriate for the sensitivity of the information we hold.
Children's Privacy
Blood Hub is not intended for individuals under the age of 18, as blood donation eligibility itself generally requires a minimum age under Bangladeshi medical guidelines. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from someone under 18, we will delete it. See our Child Safety Standards for more information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the app evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of Blood Hub after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
